In April of 2010, the regulations for lead-safe remodeling
and restoration for all homes built before 1975 will change drastically. To
meet these regulations, nearly all remodeling practices will need to be
adjusted and changed, and all this work will need to be overseen by a certified
lead-save renovator. The fines for violating these regulations will be very
high — as much as $30,000.
At Community Building and Restoration, we have already taken
the classes for this certification and will have all our new lead-safe
practices up and running before the changes occur.
Don’t be caught off-guard by these new regulations. Don’t
sign a contract with a non-certified contractor whose work will violate the new
rules or who will have to charge extra to bring in a certified supervisor. Instead,
call Milwaukee’s most experienced and dedicated old-home specialists, Community
Building and Restoration.
